How To Develop Book Reading Habit

Reading habit is a really good habit, and I'm happy that I have it. A few days ago I worried when I thought that my reading habit is no more like my younger age. Yes, that's right. I read a lot of books in my childhood. Whenever I went, wherever I went, I took a story book with me. Even when I went by train, I read books all throughout the journey. My grandmother and grandfather also gave me books in my childhood. In my every birthday, my sister gave me books. That help me to increase my reading habit as well as imagination power. Now in the era of computer and smartphone, children lose their imagination power cause they can see everything in television or computer or smartphone. But we have to imagine those things, which we read about in books. Everyone praised me for the habit. Even I had a desire to build a library in my house when I can earn. But nowadays I can't read a book more than 20 minutes. Simply I can't. Is there any particular reason? But one good thing, I've built up a good reading habit in computer or smartphone. I read a lot of articles every day from those.
How To Develop Book Reading Habit

All I can say, my reading habit is not gone, it has been shifted from hardcover book to ebook. As the technology rises, we have to do something to maintain the pace. There are some benefits of ebook like you can carry thousands of books in a little device like Kindle or iPad. Moreover, you have to kill few trees to make a book, whereas there is no such problem for an ebook. Though I don't read book that much. I read the only article from different blogs like NeilPatel, QuickSprout, IftiSEO, Problogger, ShoutMeLoud, Backlinko, etc. I follow them regularly. I learn a lot of everyday from those articles. Just like I knew comments are considered as blog updates but later I knew that those are considered as minor updates of a blog, and I wrote in detail in the post- why fresh content is regularly needed for a blog. Anyway what I said, the blog names which I follow regularly. I have a book written by Darren Rowse who is the founder of Problogger. And this book is just awesome for any blogger. But the reading habit is very important, especially for a blogger. There is a proverb- if you want to write a book, you have to read a hundred books. This is damn true. Whenever we read a book on a topic, we explore that in a new way. Which helps us to improve our knowledge. I really enjoy reading. Nowadays whenever I want to read some topic, I take my smartphone, open google chrome, and search for the topic. It may be the latest tricks of SEO in 2017 or may be the benefits of black coffee. For that, I learn every day something new. I know that it's not a method of direct income (rather you can say passive income), yet you can be satisfied a lot.

"Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world, a door opens to allow in more light." –Vera Nazarian

"Anyone who says they have only one life to live must not know how to read a book." – Author Unknown

"There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all." –Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

There are some ways. If you follow them, you can cultivate a lifetime reading habit. First of all, set a time for reading. Every one of us is busy with school, college, office or something else. Set a time and read whatever you want, like blog, article, hardcover books on your favourite topic. For me, night is the better option. I mean after dinner. You can take a book and go to your couch and start reading. You can start with 10-15 minutes from the very first, and then start to increase the time day by day.

Carry a book always, whenever you go, where ever you go. If you feel comfortable with Kindle or iPad, take them. If there is a situation where you have to wait for 30-40 minutes, you can read the book. It will help to time pass as well as you will get a time for reading book. Obviously, it is not possible for everywhere like theater hall or marriage ceremony.

You can make a list some books you want to read. Ask your friends to suggest some books. You may mention them the genre also like horror or romantic. Open your smartphone's notepad and note down the name. Whenever you complete a book, write a word "done" beside it.

It is always preferred to read a book in a silent place. A noisy environment can change the mood of reading; even it can break your concentration. So don't read in a room with noisy family members or roommates, or beside a television or computer. Go to an empty room and start reading. Or as I said, night is the best time to read, just before sleep.

Try to keep your smartphone in silent mode while reading a book. It will break your concentration. When I read on a smartphone, sometimes I keep my phone in flight mode, it is very annoying to get ting tong messages from Messenger or WhatsApp while reading. Or if you read in a Kindle or hardcover book, just keep your smartphone in silent mode and keep reading. Staying away sometimes from smartphone helps us. It's not a good habit to type all times in mobile.

If you have a kid, you can read the book to them. Reading a book and listening to the story both are important. It will help to build reading habit into your kid. Find some children's book and read those to them. Alternatively, it is an excellent way to spend some quality times with them.

You can also buy some book from second-hand book shop at very low price. It will save a lot of money for you. Though books are not very expensive things considering to your other expenses.

Make your reading time enjoyable. Read it while you are sipping tea or coffee, or while sitting in an armchair. You can take books to tour also. It's a very pleasure moment when you read a book while seeing the sunset on the beach. Follow these tips, and you can definitely cultivate a lifetime reading habit. You can buy a kindle (best price available in the market) today for reading ebooks. Well, no more today. If you have any question related this post, feel free to ask me. Just drop a comment below. Take care. Have a nice day.
