My Scrapbook: All About Me

1. What’s the story behind your name?
It is given by one of my closest relatives. The meaning of my name is- someone who wins the sun. And my grandfather gave me my nickname- Arghya. It means things to worship God. One day my mum called me- Chhotu (The little one), and I responded her with a smile. So, she started calling me Chhotu, and it's become my nickname. Even my maximum school friends call me as Chhotu.

2. What was happening in the world when you were born?
Satyajit Ray got Oscar on that day. Coincidently he is my idol.

3. What is your earliest memory of home?
Actually, I was born in Kanchrapara. When I was 1.5 years old, we shifted to Kalyani. I was so young that I don't have any memory of my very first house, unfortunately. In my present house, we had no boundary wall, and the area was fully covered with grass. I played there for hours.

4. What was your favorite hiding place as a child? What is your favorite hiding place as an adult?
A gap between my bed and wall or under the bed. Those were really interesting place for hiding. As an adult, I think my room with close door is a great hiding place. A place to hide emotion, a place to cry, a place to enjoy myself and everything. But only one condition- door should be closed.

5. Describe your favorite outfit as a child, and as a youth. What about now?
From the very early age, I wear shorts, and I'm comfortable with it. Apart from that, I didn't have any personal choice in childhood. I wore what my parents bought. But now I love to wear a black shirt and ripped blue jeans. Cargo is also my favorite cause it's very comfortable.

6. In your opinion, what has been the most significant world event that has taken place during your lifetime? Why?
Significant in which sense? If you ask me about any sad incident, then I would tell- Michael Jackson's death. Apart from the King of Pop, he is also my hero, my inspiration. And if you ask about an incident that makes me happy, it will be any philanthropic work by Bill Gates, Shah Rukh Khan, Christiano Ronaldo, and Justin Bieber. I really love it. We should always stand by the needy people. Help them, make them happy and provide them good life. It is considered as a total developing progress of a nation.

7. What kinds of places do you remember going with your mother? What about with your father?
I went to different kinds of "Mela" with my mum in childhood asked her to buy some toys for me. It is a great memory. I never went in such places with my dad. I went only with him in two places- Kashmir and Thailand.

8. What kinds of civic or political activities have you gotten involved with?
Actually, I don't understand politics. It is not as easy as that go for an election and become a political leader. No, not like that. The people who are behind politics, study a lot, gain experience and then come into this field. They run the whole country, the entire nation and it's not an easy task. It's all about my ignorance for not involving in it and nothing else.

9. What frightens you and why?
My biggest fear is poverty. I started my professional life so that I can stay away from it.

10. What is your greatest joy? Greatest sorrow?
When I got an invitation letter from Google Adsense team to come in Park Hotel, Kolkata. Attending DJ Snake's live performance also just like a "dream comes true" incident to me. Greatest sorrow? My grandmother loved me most among my family, and she is no more. Sometimes I miss her. She was unable to see that her college dropout grandson is now able to fulfill all of his dreams by himself.

11. What is your personal secret to happiness?
There is nothing secret about it. It is same for all. Follow your dreams. Do whatever your heart wants and not to hear other's words. I made my hobby as my profession, so I never feel any pressure for my work. It helps me to stay happy.

12. What kinds of lessons did you take as a child?
Nothing special to mention, At least I can't recall anything like these right now.

13. What personality trait do people most often associate with you? What other dominant trait do you have that people overlook?
I can't recognize people when I go outside. Many people think that I have kind of bad attitude and I'm very arrogant. But trust me I'm not like that. If you think so, I will request you to spend at least 2-3 hours with me, and I will be able to prove you wrong.

14. What was your most embarrassing moment?
I'm very introvert. If you can't give proper environment, I will probably hesitate to speak with you. Moreover, if you ask me something in front of many people, I couldn't say anything almost. I remember, when I was in the first year at Adamas, ma'am asked me to say something about a topic in class, and it was actually an exam. You can say it viva. I was blushed, my legs were shaking. Ultimately I ended up that with saying nothing. It was the most embarrassing moment I have ever faced.

15. What would you like to be remembered for?
I would like to remember as someone who can live his life just by following his dreams.

16. Where, when and why did you go to college?
My college name was Adamas Institute of Technology. It was 2010. I went there for two reasons. Number one, to learn to code so that I can improve my coding skill and design better websites. But unfortunately, WBUT does not include web design languages like HTML, Javascript, CSS in its syllabus. The second reason was to play football. I was looking for a college where football has been treated as great sports and have their ground. Adamas had all these.

17. Describe your relationship with your grandparents.
I've lost my grandfather when I was in class 4. The only thing I remembered well is that I threw away all his cigarette packets outsides so that he could not smoke. And my grandmother loved me most in my family. My family members even said as fun that I am her husband. She was really caring about me. If I misbehaved something with her, I'm saying in front all of you- I'M SORRY.

18. How do you feel about death?
It's always better not to think about death. We all have to die one day. And losing someone close is a really painful incident. But just think like this- we have been sent on earth for few days, so we are lucky. And we should live our live fullest.

19. What was your relationship like with each of your brothers and sisters as children? As teens? As adults?

21. Tell about a teacher or class that had a great influence on you.
My computer science teacher. It has been almost seven years; I'm his ex-student. Still, we have contacts. I sometimes go to his place to meet him. He is just like a friend-philosopher-guide to me.

22. Describe your teenage social life: Your friends, dances, movies, dating, activities, etc.
I had a lot of friends, and I played football every day. Dance is just inside my closed room. I saw few movies on that stage and "Titanic" is my all time favorite. I didn't date any girl in this period; I was really too shy to talk with girls.

Yeah, I did only one drama organized by our club. I was always interested in sports. I regularly played in my class football team.

24. Tell about your first crush.
She is awesome and very childish. She was my classmate, and I had a crush on her from class 6. I joined in a math tuition just for her, as she was admitted there. A few days ago, we met after a long time, and we talk a little, then handshake, then bye bye. :)

My bedroom was blue. Still, our house has no color but will be very soon. I had no living room separately.

27. What did you do as a child that got you in the most trouble with your parents? With your teacher?
People think I have a lot of money; I buy whatever I want. But I belong from a lower-middle-class family. It was not possible to fulfill all my wish all time for them. I didn't get most of the things I wanted as we had not enough money. They rebuked me. I wanted to buy just a 10 rupees water game, I requested many times to my mum, and she disagreed. Now I play with that. It's not mine; It is my nine years old nephew's. I play and smile. God fulfills our desire at any cost.

I think gaining knowledge, be down to earth, help needy people, be kind enough those are good values to any people. But I don't know what exactly have inside me. So it's better to ask who is really close to me.

34. Where is the most exciting place you have ever been? What made it interesting?
It was a zoo in Thailand named- Safari World. There was a tour where we all are inside in a car, and it will go through a vast area, where many animals are roaming. Zebra, Tiger, etc. They all are set free, but we are in a cage. It attracts me more. In our country, I have seen that we see all animals in a cage. Loving animals is also an important value to humanity.

35. Which of your mother’s personality traits do you share? Which of your father’s? What about from grandparents?
My mother is very kind and soft-hearted person. The thing I learned from her is to respect all people from every profession whatever if he is floor cleaner or multinational company's CEO. Father is a little bit egoistic. Nothing special to share about grandparents. Oh yes, my grandma took care of herself a lot. She was very regular.
