Are you looking for more information about why do your fire tv stick remote/ fire stick remote batteries die so fast, then you are at right place. Let me answer all your questions. The Amazon FireStick is the very cheap video streaming service that was launched by multibillion dollar company, Amazon.
It is a little HDMI that you connect to your TV and allows you to stream from Amazon Video, Netflix, and a full catalogue of your countries catch up services.
You can also watch BBC, iPlayer, and similar services. Not only does it lets you watch videos, but it also includes a million other apps, for example, you’ll have special access to Prime Music, and Spotify.

Lately, with the release of the second-generation Amazon
Fire Stick, there has been a series of complaints regarding the remote you use
to control it. If your remote has a very fast dying battery, it isn’t the only
one. Here is everything you need to know about the fast-dying battery of your remote.
What is supposed to be the average battery life of the Amazon fire TV remote?
Considering you put batteries on it and it isn’t a
rechargeable remote, the average life it should be having is of 9-10 months.
However, since the control drains a lot of energy, the expected life is
supposed to be shortened to around 5 months. Plus, if you have an Alexa at home, they are in constant communication with each other, which means your
remote never sleeps and has a faster battery drain. But the battery should last
at least 5 months regardless.

What is the battery issue?
There are a lot of clients who have complained about the
battery life of the remote. The batteries are not rechargeable but disposable.
Most of the people have said and reported that, while the first set of batteries
lasts for a couple of months, once you change them they start running out in
3-4 weeks, regardless of how good the quality of the batteries is.
Most of the
people have reported the problem to Amazon and gotten the remote replaced
within the span of 3-4 days, anyhow most of the had the exact same issue with
the second remote.
Why are the batteries draining so fast in my remote?
Well, there isn’t really an official answer to this. Though
a lot of people have reportedly had this issue with their FireStick remotes,
Amazon has not released any official statements as to why it is happening, or
disclosed a new control with the issue fixed.
Considering that the first generation of remotes didn’t have a fast draining battery, and that Amazon has
not talked about the issue, the higher capability of the remote is probably
what is causing the battery drain.
However, not everyone has presented this
issue and those who have presented this issue have indeed gotten their remotes
replaced in the vast majority of the cases.
There are a series of theories as to why the remote’s
batteries are draining at such a fast rate, one of them is that the remote is
constantly sending information to Alexa, and is therefore always working, even
when no one is using it, and that is why the battery runs out fast.
However,
this wouldn’t explain why people without an Alexa have had this issue. A lot of
people have also said how, since it works through Bluetooth, the energy drain
is greater.
In reality, most of the community have agreed upon the fact
that it really is a factory issue, and that would explain why is only the
second generation remote, and it happens only to some people.
How do I fix it?
You probably won’t be able to fix it on your own. You can
check if it is connected to Alexa and maybe try to break the connection.
However, there are two main solutions you can take when it comes to this
problem.
First, you can send a complaint to Amazon. By going into the
help section, you’ll be able to report the issue back to the company, chances
are you’ll have it replaced within a week. However, there are two issues with
these solution, one, you’ll probably get back a remote that, like your previous
one works for a few months with the battery it has and later drains anything
you put inside it. Two, you are going to be missing your remote for a whole
week.
Solution number 2 is that the trick is in the batteries
you buy. The remote won’t have 10 months of battery life that is for sure.
However, you can buy certain batteries to elongate it as much as possible. You
obviously need to buy good quality batteries, and alkaline batteries are the
best option for them to last longer. Do not just buy generic alkaline, though,
make sure the brand you are purchasing is manufacture by a reputed manufacturer.
Another option for you to fix this regarding the batteries is buying
rechargeable ones, make sure they are alkaline so they last as much as
possible. You are not technically solving the issue by buying rechargeable batteries but you will definitely spend a lot less money on batteries to power
your Fire Stick Remote.
The issue with this solution is that you aren’t really
solving anything and you are still going to be going through more sets of
batteries than you normally would. Something you should really take into account when it comes
to replacing your batteries is the residual deposits from the batteries. They
tend to leak into the remote and the following set of batteries might be
draining faster or not working properly because of it.
Here is another solution by Amit Kumar Singh. He stated on Quora- It Is very Common Problem with early Devices As I have faced it as well. If it drains as fast as next day DO the following -
- You need to reset the remote as reason is firmware update.
- Press Left+Back+Options Button together for 10 Seconds.
- Remote resets and doesn't work few seconds as it reconnects again.
- When is reconnects it would last long now.
In conclusion, there isn’t really much you can do
considering this is an Amazon’s factory issue. To save money, buy rechargeable batteries, or try to ask for a replacement remote to the company.
Summary: Amazon's Fire Stick TV/ Fire TV Stick remote battery drains quickly and may require frequent battery replacements. Possible causes include a malfunctioning remote, low-quality batteries, or leaving the remote in standby mode. Users can try troubleshooting steps such as resetting the remote, using high-quality batteries, and turning off the remote when not in use to prolong battery life.

ReplyDeleteGuys all you can do is just insert the batteries whenever required and when you're not using your firestick when take thr batteries out, Simple, i know this ks quite irritating to follow this everytime, But that is the only hack i advise.
ReplyDeleteI do this too. I keep the remote with the batteries in a ziplock bag and only put them in when I need it. Upside is no more dead batteries and we stopped losing the remote so frequently.

ReplyDeleteI have the same issue, but only with the remote without the volume control. I have 4 to 5 firesticks, but only 2 are the latest version, and zero issue with those. But, of the others, 2 have the battery issues. Only option other than replacing batteries at an alarming rate is to replace the entire firestick.
ReplyDeletebattery lasts for 3 days, high capacity ones may last of 1 week ,
ReplyDeleteSwitching to rechargeable or disposing the stick itself.

All I did to fix the problem was to buy a million amazon brand batteries through amazon and problem solved. Of course that is probably why jeff bozos is a quadrillionaire.

ReplyDeleteSOLUTION HERE: DONT HOLD IN HAND WHILE WATCHING TV. I to had same problem. But what i learnt is when remote is kept idle in a static place it will go to sleep mode.
ReplyDeleteThis we can save battery issue. Any one who keeps the remote in hand while watching will have short battery life. Hence just place in an place (coffee table) and pick only when required. Hope this helps
Best solution: Use the firestick app on your phone. No batteries required.
ReplyDeleteI'm using expensive batteries and only getting two days out of them. I only have a contract for six months to try it out and I do like it. But I won't be renewing, I will be looking at alternatives.
