The main purpose of technology is to make things easier for a human being. This is what technology has been quite successful to achieve. Not only that with the up-gradation in technology. The same product becomes more convenient. There are so many examples that we can see the impact of technology on the comfort of a human being. For example, washing machine, fridge, vacuum cleaner etc.

Vacuum cleaners have significant importance because it helps to do a very important work called “cleaning”. This technology improved a lot and in 2002, autonomous robotic cleaners were introduced. They helped a lot.  They were designed such that they make sure to clean every part and corner of the house before stopping.

What Does Blue Light On Roomba Mean?

This circular autonomous robot was first introduced by iRobot. The series of autonomous vacuum cleaners were called Roomba. Over the past years, Roomba has been working in many houses for cleaning purposes. Roomba has improved from time to time with the improvement in technology.

One of the features of the Roomba is blue light, there are few types of blue lights. That we want to focus on in this article. We will try to explain the blue lights on Roomba in the following section.

Types of Blue Light and their meaning

Normally when we talk about the blue light in Roomba it means these three blue lights

1> A blue starfish light

2> Flash Blue Magnifying glass

3> Solid blue magnifying glass

A Blue Starfish Light

A blue starfish light is a kind of a warning. It means that the brush is not working properly and it is slowing down. This slowing down means that you have to do something to make the robot work correctly. There could be multiple purposes for slowing down. Firstly, it could be moving over a frictional surface that’s why it is slowing down. It means that the slowing down process is due to the friction between the surfaces like carpet.

You need to wait for a little until the robot finish this surface and come on the floor for a less frictional surface. If it was due to the friction surface. The robot will start working fine as soon as you will put it back on a less frictional surface like the floor.

The second reason for the blue starfish light is of course not friction. What if your robot is on a smooth floor with no extra resistance like that of carpet. It means that the reason is somehow different. The problem is that your robot needs your help. There is extra dirt on the side brush of the cleaner.

This dirt is not allowing the brushes to move freely. Hence the blue light indicator turned on. You need to do something. Pick the automatic robot in your hands, turn it upside down and clean the brush. Now restart the robot it will work fine.

This is how the intelligent system should behave robots are considered to behave like humans. Of course, it is not easy but using different indicators they can explain the problems they are facing. In other words, the light is the language of robots. You need to help them with their problems.

Flash Blue Magnifying Glass

A fash blue magnifying glass if flashing means different types of issues are possible. You need to check them so that the robot keeps working. The most probable chances are that the robot has detected an extended amount of dirt. So, as an indicator it trying to tell you that wherever the cleaner is, it is the extra dirty place.

If this is the case, then wait for some time this flash blue magnifying glass will stop flashing and turn to solid blue magnifying glass (which we will explain after this as a point “3”). If it does so, no need to worry the robot exactly knows what is it doing and how to tackle the extra dirt.

What is the meaning if it does not behave like that? Simple there is some other issue. It means you have to do some cleaning process with the cleaner.  Open the manual and follow the instruction to clean the counter-rotating rubber rollers. Furthermore, also wipe out the channels on the downside of the machine. At that place is a dirt detector if it gets dirty it starts to send the wrong signals. That is the indicator that there is extra dirt but there may not be extra dirt.

This is how the flash blue magnifying help to understand the problem the vacuum is feeling. It is very important to analyse the signal and trying to understand the machine before taking it to any mechanic. The reason is it may not have any bigger fault or no-fault. You can save money by solving the issue in few minutes.

A Solid Blue Magnifying Glass

A solid blue magnifying glass doesn’t have multiple meanings. This flash of solid blue magnifying glass simply shows that the cleaner is in “ intensive clean mode”. Normally after a flash blue magnifying glass that means extreme dirt, this solid blue magnifying glass starts flashing. When it starts the Roomba start cleaning like s fan by moving in a one-yard area.

At this stage, you can press the spot clean button, Roomba will keep spiralling in the same area trying to clean the spot. It will keep spiralling until and unless it hit some area or make sure the surface is clean. It is not at all something to worry about as Roomba may act like doing something wrong while spiralling but it is absolute working according to its program.

There is nothing to worry about. The basic purpose of the cleaner is to cleaning either its do it gently or spirling around the same place for some time. Until it is cleaning it is fine.

Conclusion

In the conclusions of this article, we can say that the robot is becoming a necessity for every home. It indicates what it is doing via blue Lights. The three types of blue lights make it easier to understand the current working the Roomba is doing or the problem it is facing. Roomba is an amazing and highly recommended product for cleaning purposes.
