Wondershare Filmora 12 has just been released, and it includes several exciting new features.

Cross-platform functionality

Wondershare Filmora 12 has added support for multiple platforms to assist video producers in completing their work on their desktops and then transferring it to their iPad. You can now finish your videos on an iPad itself. No matter where you are or what device you're using, you can edit your pictures with Filmora Workspace cloud storage from your cellphone to your desktop. It's possible to transfer video clips from your phone to your computer via Filmora Workspace cloud storage. Filmora is available for Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and iPadOS.

Collaborative and multi-media presentation of videos.

Collaborating with your video editing team has just gotten easier thanks to Filmora 12. You can now securely share your project using the Filmora Workspace cloud service and receive time-coded comments and notes from other team members. This will improve collaboration tremendously, and you won't have to seek reviews from other team members manually. If you're part of a video editing team with multiple individuals, Filmora 12 just made things better for you.

An enhanced keyframe is provided.

Filmora 12 gives you awesome keyframing capabilities. You can use Filmora 12 to easily animate a scene with cool effects, add filters, and use colour correction tools by setting the keyframe start and end points.

With Filmora 12's Enhanced Keyframe feature, you can take your videos to a new level. You can also choose multiple keyframe points and fine-tune the controls for that scene. Furthermore, you can customize other video components such as scale, opacity, position, and so on.

An Adjustment Layer can be used to make adjustments to a photograph.

Filmora 12 has finally released the Adjustment Layer feature, one of the most popular with Filmora customers. An adjustment layer can be added to the video and modified, and the modifications will be reflected across the whole video. You may, for example, use the adjustment layer to change the brightness, tint, and colour hues.

The incredible thing about the adjustment layer is that you can create keyframe points on it, add effects, and affect the entire video. With the adjustment layer, you can make non-destructive changes to the footage without altering the pixels in the original scene.

A technique for dynamically adjusting the loudness of an audio file based on the characteristics of the device playing the file.

Recently, Filmora 12 has introduced a superbly helpful feature named Audio Stretch. You might have a video with a longer length, but a shorter track. If this occurs, you can simply lengthen the audio from the timeline, which will immediately boost the duration. How cool is that? It works smartly to loop the audio without any errors, and it sounds seamless in my testing.

A decent quality audio can be produced by removing the noise from the recorded audio.

With Audio Denoise, Filmora 12's new feature, you can get rid of the noise in your audio recording. It works particularly well at reducing hiss. In addition, it lowers the reverberation from sounds. Because it eliminates noise from video recordings straightaway, you don't need to use an extra service or software. Filmora 12's AI-powered Audio Denoise function does a superior job of reducing noise.

An intelligent cutout.

Filmora 12 has one of my favourite features. The AI Smart Cutout uses AI to quickly remove the background, people, and objects from a scene, similarly to Apple's new photo cutout feature in iOS 16.

Selecting the video, go to AI Tools, and enable Smart Cutout to use this feature. Smart Cutout instantly removes the background using AI when you use the smart brush. It is hassle-free and works well. In Filmora 12, Smart Cutout functioned flawlessly. You do not have to use the green screen or Chroma Key to remove the background manually.

A mask is drawn.

With Filmora 12, you can use the pen tool to create free-form shapes. It follows a path through curves and straight lines, allowing you to draw freely. You can also adjust the Blur strength and opacity around the object to make it look natural.

A list of New Features is provided below.

In addition to the aforementioned attributes, Wondershare Filmora 12 allows you to create 3D tiles using pre-set templates. Filmora's video editor tool now includes over 100 new royalty-free background music, which is terrific. Furthermore, if you're switching over from another video editor, you can utilise keyboard shortcut presets for applications like Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro in Filmora without any problem. That's pretty cool, right?

Wondershare Filmora 12 has the following advantages.

If you've been using Wondershare Filmora, you'll be familiar with these features. However, if you're new to Filmora 12 and want to learn about its key video editing features, those features are still available in earlier versions.

Easy-to-use interface

Filmora's video editor has always been renowned for its uncluttered UI. Because of this, Filmora is frequently chosen by new video creators and professionals alike. The uncluttered UI has been this app's primary advantage, and Filmora 11 maintained this characteristic. Filmora 12 makes the procedure better by making some minor adjustments to the user interface. You can, if you want, switch to Filmora 12's traditional UI.

You can begin editing videos right away by dragging and dropping them onto the timeline. You can also switch to Dual mode if you have a dual-screen setup. You can see the alterations immediately because it has multiple timeline support with a preview window. On one window, you will see all the controls, and on the other you will see the preview.

In addition to the conventional manual method, Filmora 12 also offers an “Instant Mode” that enables you to create an attractive video in seconds by selecting a template from a wide range of choices. Filmora comes with over 100 templates for vlogs, photo memories, and more. On top is the “Elements” panel, which provides you with local media, stock footage, audio libraries, titles, transitions, effects, stickers, templates, and split-screen modes.

When you first open Filmora 12, you'll notice that it is clean and simple to use, even if you're a novice. As a professional marketer, vlogger, filmmaker, or influencer, Wondershare gives you the freedom to design the interface in a way that best suits your needs.

The editing tools are available.

With Filmora 12, you can easily trim, split, crop, and resize videos. In addition to rotation, opacity adjustment, shadow addition, and keyframe point placement for adding effects to jazz up your video, you can right-click on a video clip and immediately separate the audio. Furthermore, I particularly liked the ease with which you can split the screen and add multiple videos in one frame. With Split Screen mode, you can make collages in more than 30 ways.

Within minutes, I was able to trim the video, add a new soundtrack, add keyframe points to apply popular effects, and render the video in Filmora 12. There is also a method to change the video's speed and stabilize the picture if you captured an unsteady image. The video can be made either fast, slow, or even backwards from the timeline in Filmora 12. It includes the standard features as well as new technical features that other video editing apps don't have.

Mask and Blend

With Filmora 12, you can easily create a unique blend of multiple video clips thanks to the Mask and Blend function. You can use overlay, soft light, linear dodge, and other blending techniques to reveal a portion of the video and hide the rest of the scene. You can also adjust the layer's size and opacity. You can choose from 18 blending modes, and you'll produce a stylish and magical scene if you select one. With other video editing software, you may need to spend hours blending two scenes manually, but with Filmora 12, it's just a click away. It's flawless.

Having a camera track a moving object.

Filmora 12's Motion Tracking is one of the program's advanced tools. Professionals may use it to match the movement of an object or person in a video with another element. You can choose a video clip and then proceed with Motion Tracking. You may specify the element where movement begins, and the software will automatically examine the entire video for movement.

After selecting a target, you can then choose an element like a text box, sticker, emoji, AR object, or anything else you want to track. It will follow the object's movement and synchronize with it perfectly. If you want an advanced feature like Motion Tracking, Filmora 12 from Wondershare is here to help.

The data and labels are the content.

With Filmora 12, you can make your video unique thanks to its large assortment of titles. You can find all the trendy and contemporary font and title options in its trending section. You can use basic text, opening credits, automatic subtitle generation, WordArt, custom Subscribe buttons if you are a Youtube user, end credits, and much more.

Filmora 12 has so many Film Titles to select from if you are a filmmaker. You will particularly like the range in Filmora 12 if you subscribe to Wondershare Filmstock. Furthermore, you will be able to find a large selection of titles at their store.

Transition and effect animations.

Filmora makes it simple to include transitions and effects. With Filmora 12, you can now add World Cup-themed transitions, which is pretty cool. You can use the library of transitions to add something like Fade, Warp Zoom, and Beam Transition, or Flash, cinematic effects, and more. It's pretty great. Filmora 12 is also particularly good for applying transitions and effects.

There are many unique and interesting video effects in Filmora 12, so you'll love them. The Glitch Dispersion effect is one that I particularly enjoy for introducing my videos. In addition to cinematic filters, black-and-white effects, frames, overlays, Damaged Film effects, and more, you will also find dispersion, blur, chromatic aberration, and vignetting options, among others.

Filmora 12 does not disappoint when it comes to transitions and effects, especially when it comes to adding Bokeh Blur and AI portrait effects to videos. In addition to the preset list, you can also add a Bokeh Blur and AI portrait effect to videos.

An audio device can play sound in a variety of ways.

You can easily detach audio from videos and add a soundtrack of your choice using Wondershare Filmora 12's audio features. You can browse Wondershare's large library of music and sounds to choose music for your video based on its theme. You may use any kind of audio in your vlogs, background music, ambient sound, or travel videos, whether you want ambient sound or more music from Wondershare's Filmstock store if you've joined.

With Filmora 12, you can choose to have the video's audio synced to the music's high beat automatically. Filmora 12 also includes an Auto Sync feature that syncs your video and audio from different sources effortlessly. To save time, you can quickly remove silent sections of the video with a click. Everything is simple with this video editor.

To make matters worse, you can completely remove the audio from audio files using Wondershare Filmora. In addition to converting text to speech and creating subtitles from speech to text using advanced AI, I have covered the Audio Stretch feature in the advanced features section below.

Using a green screen, chroma key creates the illusion that a scene is taking place in front of a green background.

In Filmora 12, Chroma Key (green screen) is built in to help any advanced video editor. With this feature, you can remove the background in your video clips if you have a green background. You can change the background to anything you want. You can apply several effects and create a unique look for social media using this function.

With the arrival of Filmora 12, you no longer need to employ a green backdrop to isolate the subject. However, green screens and Chroma Key functions are still highly recommended for cutting out an object precisely.

To grade a color; to adjust the colors in a photograph or video to create a desired effect.

With Filmora 12, you can make your video look like a cinematic film by using its advanced colour-tuning tool. You can adjust the temperature, tint, lights, vignette, and other options on a clip. It also comes with presets from popular films and television shows such as Batman, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Gravity, and more.

With the RGB tuning and white balance controls, you can fine-tune and colour-correct the scene based on your personal preference. You can also increase the brightness and exposure, accentuate certain colours, and match colours to a reference frame. Furthermore, Filmora 12 includes a variety of advanced colour-correction features in addition to its video editing tools.

Support for Plugins

Filmora 12 supports third-party plugins from Boris FX and NewBlue FX. Boris FX particles, stylize, lights, image restoration, blur, and art looks are among the most popular. The Boris FX plugins include a variety of high-quality presets that can improve the look of your footage immediately. NewBlue FX offers over 100 effects and over 500 custom title presets in addition to over 100 effects. You can apply these presets to generate a unique look based on the content.

Media are free.

The greatest advantage of Filmora 12 is that you get free stock media from Pexels, Pixabay, Unsplash, and GIPHY. Within Filmora 12, you can download stock media in high quality and import it to your project. That sounds great, doesn't it? If you want more assets, you may sign up for Wondershare's Filmstock, which offers stock videos, photos, music, and more.

Filmora 12 provides excellent performance and dependability.

On my Windows 11 PC running an 10th-Gen Intel i3 processor with 8GB of RAM and 240GB of NVMe SSD storage, I tested Filmora 12. It has an entry-level Nvidia GeForce GT 730 graphics card with 2GB of VRAM. While exporting a 1-minute 4K video in MP4 format (30 FPS, 8000kbps bitrate) with a soundtrack and an effect, it took 7 minutes and 30 seconds. That’s pretty decent, considering I don’t have the most powerful computer.

A 3-minute, 30fps, 8,000kbps 30FPS 1080p video was exported in HEVC format (Extension required) in about 6 minutes using Filmora 12. During the process, Filmora consumed 70% of the CPU, 50% of the GPU, and 3GB of RAM (of 8GB). Even though Filmora was rendering on a low-end PC, the video was created in a couple of minutes. If you have a mid- to high-end PC, your videos will be processed even faster and outputted in a couple of minutes.
